A week in a safari vehicle is a close way to travel. The women who guide for Savanna Soul Safaris make it an easy one: you are met at the airport by name, your guide sets the pace, and every comfort stop, camp arrival and evening plan is handled with the care you would want from a friend who happens to be an expert.
What travelling with a woman guide changes
It changes the small things that add up. Where and when comfort stops happen. How you are introduced at camps. Whether anyone asks how you slept. Our guides are licensed, trained in first aid and have years in the parks, and they notice.

Single travellers pay a small supplement for a private room at most lodges; we will always tell you the exact figure. Your guide is with you every day, and camps in Tanzania are sociable places if you want company in the evening.
With friends
Groups of four to six share one vehicle, which brings the cost per person down. We can arrange a women-only departure with an all-women crew, guide and camp staff included, on request.
How we shape the days
Tell us whether you want to be out at first light every morning or to read by the pool until ten, and we will build the itinerary around that answer. Nothing on one of our trips is fixed by a coach timetable, because the vehicle is yours.

Is Tanzania safe for a woman travelling alone?
Yes, with a licensed operator. You are with your guide from arrival to departure, lodges and camps are staffed around the clock, and we brief you on the few things worth knowing about towns and markets.
Can I request a woman guide?
Every Savanna Soul safari is led by a woman guide unless you ask otherwise. Tell us in the inquiry if you have a preference for a particular guide.
What does the single supplement cost?
It varies by lodge and by season, and it is the one figure people are most often surprised by, so we quote it as a separate line on your itinerary rather than burying it in the total.
Will I be put in a vehicle with strangers?
Not unless you ask to be. Every trip is private by default. Your vehicle holds your group and your guide, and nobody else joins it. The one exception is a group departure, which shares the cost, so if you would like us to look for one, say so and we will tell you what is running.
